Cancellation & Refund Policy

Proven Screening Solutions enforces a no refund policy once we receive your candidate’s e-signed form. This includes but is not limited to: mistakes or erroneous information provided by the user on the order form as submitted after the user has confirmed the information and acknowledged these terms or mistakes or erroneous information provided by the applicant in the consent form.

Once you place your order, administrative and credit card processing costs are incurred, and a partial refund of 75% will be refunded if your candidate does not consent to background check. If you need to cancel your order prior to us receiving your candidate’s information, please send us an email request within 12 hours of submission.

For criminal checks or social security traces the result “”No records found“”” is considered a successful result and no refund will apply — in providing the report, we are certifying that this person has no criminal records in our database (for criminal reports), or cautioning at the lack of SSN records (for SSN traces).

Every search that is processed through our systems incurs fixed and variable costs for our organization. Whether the search results yield hundreds of offense records or details, or none at all, orders are fulfilled using the same rigorous standards and processes. Due to the variations in coverage across state and county jurisdictions, Proven Screening strongly encourages you to review your information before completing your order. Proven Screening cannot be held responsible for records that are not included in our coverage.

What you should know

Our reports follow the legal requirements for employment screening. We will show all criminal convictions, to the extent permitted by law. But events that did not lead to a conviction will not show up if they are older than 7 years. We will not show arrest records, due to guidance from the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. State laws may impose further restrictions on what we are permitted to show.

Some jurisdictions do not participate with any database service. In those cases a manual search of court records should be done. Our database is one of the most comprehensive available — if we don’t have the records other instant search sites won’t have it either.

Depending on the state in which you use our reports, results may be limited by the restrictions imposed by that state. Some states do not permit any records to be shown that are older than 7 years, even convictions — even if those records come from another state. This is the most common restriction, but others can apply. Please consult your state laws for more details.

For an instant search, we require a date of birth match, which some sources do not provide. For manually verified searches those sources will be included.
